This will be my first entry into the blog spot. I think it will be my last. But in order to keep mom happy I will tell you where I went and what I did.Yes your seeing correctly, I am driving a tractor trailer. Even though it was in a drivng simulator, it had everything a real truck would have. I did fine and scored very high on my driving. They want me to go to work for them now. Maybe not.
Some of the trophys on the wall, given to the lodge by customers and friends. Most of the animals that were shot from Africa were shot from the owner of the trucking company. The hunting lodge had everything for you. They gave us our own bright orange hat. Then provided us with a winter coat, shooting gloves (although I used my own). Hunting boots, which I think I am going to buy, the best boots I have ever had. I didn't even wear winter underwear I was so warm.
Now I know what your thinking! Look my dad has a shotgun in his hands!! Before I married your mother I was as comfortable with a gun in my hand as a bowling ball, base ball, golf ball or even a basketball. Yes I used to hunt phesants, ducks, rabbits, deer, elk, pine hens. It has been many, many years sense I have gone out like this. They have a shooting range where we shot clay discs to get warmed up. Most of the ones I shot at only broke on impact with the ground. It was all I could do to get my gun eye, to lead the target enough to hit the d&*+ thing. After about 20 shots I wasn't getting any better so we left. It's time to get all oranged up for the hunt. Our guide was filling the pockets for Jose with 20 gage shotgun shells. We must have had more that 100 shells between both pockets. I think I used only 50-60 each hunt. Jose wasn't to big on the idea of hunting, he wanted to stay in the lodge where it was warm and cozy. Besides after this hunt he got real sick and went to bed and stayed there all night and most of the next morning.
It was time to pick our dogs for the hunt. They had 7 to choose from and they all were excited to go. They told us not to shoot the birds unless they were head high or above. The dogs would jump so high they could and did pick the birds right out of the air. I think the dog your looking at in the picture jumping got more birds than Jose did and Jose had a gun.

They had about 4 stops along the way to unload all the birds we shot. They would hang them on this bird post. Can you tell Jose was really cold? At this point we had shot 23 birds in less than 400 yards of hunting. By the way they raise their own birds, but we still had to hit them. I gave more birds a sore butt than I did killing any of

them. Can you say buck-shot enema?
First day of shooting bagged 47 birds. Here we are holding our dinner for the night. By the way Phesants cooked in orange liqure is mighty good. I think I got a buzz from the alcohol. he he,....na most of it burns off.........most of it. he he ho ho ha

These are the guns that they have for the shooting range in the basement of the lodge. Recognize these Andy? How is your grouping? Can you tell what type of gun is on the right? Can you say Rambo?
Ok here is one of my groupings with the gun to the right. A Smith and Wesson 500 the largest hand gun made. I had a smile on my face with this one. Nothing like a gut shot, a slow death. I was the only one to hit dead center on the X. This gun makes a big hole.

Ok what your seeing here is a happy boy who shot a 44 mag on the left and the S&W 500 on the right. This the end of my blog.
I was to be home on Thursday night at about 11 PM but my flight was cancelled due to weather in Chicago. So I didn't leave until the next moring and it was late. I missed my connecting flight in Denver and had to wait until 2:30 for another one. I got home about 4 pm a day later. Isn't mother nature wonderful to travelers? If you would like a coffee table book of my adventures in Omaha Nebraska, it will be out at the end of the year. I have 136 pictures, if you would like I will e-mail them all to you. NOT!!!
