Back to the Hospital Again!

Yep, you guess it, Pop is back in the hospital. He was schduled to have surgery on Monday the 25th of Feb. but he took a turn for the worse and back in he went. He is having emergency surgery today Feb. 21st at 11 am. Apparently the blood on his brain has become mush and will not drain away. The CAT Scan found new blood on the back part of his brain, but it doesn't seem to be what is causing his problems. The thick bloody substance will need to be removed and cleaned inside, then a water salt solution will replace the blood and allow the brain to regain it's size. This will take the pressure off and allow Pop to walk better and talk better. They will drill a hole on the side of the skull remove the blood, replace it with water and salt solution and then put a plug in the drilled hole. A drain will be place in his skull for a short period of time. They will then take another CAT Scan to see what if anything more they will need to do. At his age nothing is an easy procedure, we are all praying for steady hands and a strong will. Pop is a tough old bird and we all know he will fight this one every day.
