Marvin Jacob Jorgensen Hospital Stay

I would normally post a picture of those who we blog about, but in this case Dad, Grandpa, Uncle Marv, would kill me if I posted a picture of him while in the hospital. Here is the up to date info that we have on his health. I know everyone is waiting to hear how he is feeling and what the doctors final say is about going home.

As of last night Feb. 12th, he was doing much much better. His speech was back and he can formulate complete sentences. He is still pretty tired and walking the hospital floor poops him out pretty quick.

The blood on the brain seems to be slowly repairing itself. There for a while we thought that his condition of walking and communication was permanant but alas he is a tough Danishman and an honry old fart and seems to be doing better.

He slipped and fell while going to the mail box and getting the newspaper early in the morning. He had his flashlight and paper in hand when returning to the house, he slipped and fell. As Grandpa says it "I don't fall very gracefully" He went down hard on his back, tailbone, elbow and his head. His symptoms from the blood on the brain did not show up for about a week later, when Grandma noticed his odd behavior and slurred speach. Her first thought was "Stroke", but thankfully we found out that it was the bump on the head and the blood.

To top all this off, we found out that he has "MRSA" a highly contagious infection that he got from grandma. So now he is being treated for his injury from the fall and this infection. As everyone who knows Gramps, knows how he just loves staying in the hospital, can you say caged cat or angry alligator? Lets face it, hospital food is not high on his list of fine cuisine at a four star resturant.

Thanks goes to everyone who has called and expressed their love and concern for his well being. He knows who has called and who has visited him. It is always nice that his sisters remember him, Dorothy and Jody are wonderful and he appreciates the flowers and visits. Kenny and Karen Anderson, the Jorgensens in California Jane, Shirley, Marlane Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Uncle Bud for coming up and spending time with Grandpa, and to everyone else I was unaware of, thank you, thank you, thank you.

This is one of those times we all take stock of our lives and assess our mortality in this life. It's short and when someone is sick, we step back and take that inventory of our lives and recommit to doing better and realize how important our family is to us, no matter how far away they may live.

If you wish to contact Grandpa J. his room number is 208-529-7529, he would love to hear from you. If he is home their phone number is 208-522-1742. Thanks to all who remember our family and Grandpa, it's your love and prayers that has helped him through this time of trial.

Lynn
